Crochet Coasters

My sister, Julie, turned the big 40 this year.  (It's not that old, Julie!)
These coasters were part of my gift for her.  I didn't design them, but I made them into three colored coasters, as opposed to the two shown in the pattern.  Julie loves the color blue, so most of what I make her has navy, light blue, and white in it.  I like the colors as well, because they remind me of the ocean... My favorite place!

This is how I sent them to her.  I just love that little ribbon.  Julie enjoyed them, as I had hoped. :)
In fact, my mom liked them so well, she requested her own set.  I'm so glad I have people to make things for, who love and enjoy them! Thanks, ladies! :)

Crochet Scarf

This is a scarf that I designed and made for my friend, Jenny.  She has a bright, sweet and fun personality, so I wanted the color scheme to sort of reflect the California beach.

I have never done tasseled ends before, and I think they turned out really nice and fun!  I also threaded grey yarn through the entire design, to add a simple, yet effective design element.

This is how I gave it to her.  It was supposed to be a birthday gift, which was in December, but I only finished it in Mid March.  Jenny didn't seem to mind, thankfully, and the colors of the scarf lend itself nicely to cold Spring days. :)

Crochet Christmas Star Ornaments

This is a set of crochet star ornaments that I made for my sister Julie's family.  A different color for all of them. :)

I made these two for the physical therapists that have been helping me with my back troubles.  I wanted to show some gratitude for their help through a difficult time.  I'm glad I did, because they loved them. :)

Crocheted Ponchos - The Finished Product!

~ Amelia, Cecily, & Bronwyn ~

It took too long to get the ponchos to these lovely girls, but they fit well, and look fabulous!!!!!!!

Thanks to my sister, Julie, for sending me the photo.  Love you guys!

Crochet Baseball Cap

Remember this hat?  This was my first commissioned project back in December, 2014.

Here is the little prize that the hat was made for: Liliana Sustare. :)

Crochet Leaf Coasters

I had the fun idea to make leaf coasters for my friend Melanie's birthday.  I couldn't find a pattern I liked, so I made one up.  It was the first time I have ever written out a pattern that I made.  I wanted them to all be uniform, which is what prompted me to do it.  This is Melanie's set.  They were such a success, that I am now making them for just about everyone I know. :)

The first picture was in natural light, but the colors don't come across very clearly.  This second picture is with the flash, so you can really get a good idea of what they truly look like.

This is the finished "wrapped" product.  Melanie did enjoy them, and I'm looking forward to seeing them at her house. :)

I made this little set of orange and brown ones for my Grandma Bethel.  She is a woman after my own heart, who loves those colors. :)

Here is another set I made for my best friend.  The ribbon turned out really cute!

I hope you have enjoyed these, and if you ever want the pattern, I can get it to you! ;)

Crochet Doily

I decided to try my hand at thread crochet, and made a doily for my Mother.  I used a rug pattern that I liked, and made this with it, instead.

Thread crochet has always intimidated me a bit, because it looks so delicate.  I did not think that would be able to pull it off, but I am SO happy with the end result!

I will certainly be doing more crocheting of this kind in the future.  There are so many different possibilities this method opens up. :)
